Train the Trainer: Your Own  In‑House Respiratory Protection Expert

Our Train the Trainer program is designed for companies that schedule on‑site fit‑testing clinics and want their own internal expert to manage the respiratory protection plan year‑round.

Typically, a company will send 1–2 people to participate while we are on site fit testing a larger group (for example, 10–50 employees). One of these people becomes the Respiratory Protection Program Administrator.

During the clinic, that administrator:

  • Works alongside our team during live fit testing
  • Practices performing fit tests under our supervision
  • Learns how to manage new hires, job changes, and medical changes that affect respirator use

We also walk them through a custom binder we leave behind, which can include:

  • Copies of your employees’ Medical Evaluation Questionnaires (MEQs)
  • Training documentation and sign‑offs
  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for respirators and related products
  • Your written Respiratory Protection Plan (RPP)
  • Calibration and maintenance records for your fit‑testing equipment (when applicable)
  • Any other documents your specific program requires
After training, your administrator can:
  • Maintain your respiratory protection program between annual clinics
  • Handle new hires and staff whose medical or facial changes affect respirator fit
  • Keep documentation organized and ready for audits or inspections

For smaller companies (for example, 10 employees), we may train a single administrator who can fully maintain the program going forward. You’ll still use our secure portal for MEQs and respirator‑specific training (N95s, elastomeric respirators, PAPRs, SCBA, and more), but your internal trainer will handle the day‑to‑day program needs.

Every Train the Trainer session is tailored to the individual customer—we shape the content, examples, and documentation to match your industry, respirators, and existing safety processes.

The core regulations, standards, and recordkeeping protocols taught in our course to ensure your program is audit-ready and staff are protected.

OSHA Compliance Essentials

OSHA 1910.134 Standard

We break down the complexities of the primary federal regulation governing respiratory protection into clear, actionable steps for internal safety leaders.

Fit Testing & Medical Evals

Learn the mandatory frequency rules for annual testing and the critical requirement of medical evaluation questionnaires before any staff member is cleared to wear a respirator.

Recordkeeping & Training

Master the documentation requirements that inspectors look for, including training logs and record retention schedules that prove your ongoing commitment to safety.

Sustainable Program Maintenance

Building a respiratory protection program is only the first step. True safety lies in the system used to maintain it. Our course provides the scaffolding for sustainable processes, ensuring your organization stays audit-ready without constant administrative friction.

Annual Schedules: Establish predictable cycles for quantitative and qualitative testing across all shifts.

Expiration Monitoring: Learn to use tracking logs to prevent medical clearance and fit test lapses.

Seamless Onboarding: Standardize protocols for testing new hires immediately upon start dates.

Mobile Services Integration: Coordinate effectively with on-site fit testing partners to minimize operational downtime.

A Decade of Lessons Learned

The last 10 years have fundamentally reshaped respiratory safety. From the global pandemic and localized wildfire smoke events to evolving silica standards and changing CDC/OSHA guidance, organizations must remain agile. This course synthesizes these critical events into actionable strategies, helping your team adapt quickly to new hazards while maintaining rock-solid compliance and staff safety.
